Our School - School Board

The School Board is responsible for strategic decisions and endorsement of key areas relating to the best interests of the school. It is an Advisory Board rather than a Management Board and consists of Staff, Parents and Community Members.

Some areas in which School Boards are involved include:

-Promoting the school

-Approving the Annual School Budget and ensuring priority areas are resourced appropriately

-Contributing towards identifying priority areas

-Participating in the development of the Business Plan including target setting

-School Uniform

-Contribute to decisions regarding Religious Instruction for students

School Boards do not:

-Performance manage the Principal or any other staff member

-Run the day to day operations of the school

-Discuss individual issues realting to staff, students or parents

-Respresent specific interest groups or permit special interests to dominate meetings

-Intervene in the instruction of students

School Board Chairperson: Jodie Copping 

Jodie is a Team Leader of the Flights Department for BHP Leinster and is also a parent of two children at the school. She has been involved with the school board for a few years and assisted with the transition in 2015 from a School Council to a School Board when the school became an Independent Public Schol. Jodie also participated in training leading up to this.

Principal: Brendon Wade

Brendon has been the Principal of Leinster Community School since 2012.

Community Representative: Grant Reynolds

Grant works for Goldfields Agnew.

Community Representative: Trevor Lanigan

Trevor is the Retail Coordinator for BHP Leinster

Community Representative: Greg Richardson

Greg works for ISS.

Parent Representative: Candice Walker

Candice has two children in our school.

Parent Representative: Naomi Maher

Naomi has two children in our school and is also our P&C President.

Parent Representative: Jen Jackson

Jen has two children in our school.

Staff Representative: Colleen Sokra'a

Colleen has four children in our school and is our Manager Corporate Services.

Staff Representative:

Tara Ward

Tara is our Deputy Principal and has worked at Leinster Community School since 2015.
