Student Behaviour & Wellbeing

Here at Leinster Community School, we take a positive approach to children’s behaviour and social-emotional wellbeing. The school has a ‘Behaviour Management Policy’ aligning to Department of Education requirements. A copy is available from the office.

There may be times when individuals require assistance with the management of their behaviour. Usually, a short, calm reminder of the correct behaviour and removal from the situation is enough. Positive verbal reinforcement, use of rewards and modelling of appropriate positive behaviours are constantly used.

Occasionally, a child may be requested to think about what they have done and have a little time out from the rest of the group. In some situations an Individual Behaviour Plan may be developed to support the student.
