Our Values

Leinster Community School has incorporated the Western Australian Positive Behavior Support (PBS) program into our school. The school-based PBS leadership team consisting of staff, parents and students work together to decide on values, behavior matrix and reward system.

Our new values are Success, Teamwork, Acceptance, and Resilience (STAR).

Success; we aim for and celebrate the achievements of everyone.

Teamwork; we work with others, learn together and help each other.

Acceptance; we accept self, others and situations.

Resilience; we embrace opportunities for growth through challenges.

Future decisions, using a consultative and collaborative community-owned process which is facilitated through the school-based PBS leadership team, will include:

  • building a consistent approach to positive behavior expectations
  • developing common language and understanding of positive behavior across the whole school
  • developing procedures for responding to behavior errors, with a focus on re-teaching
  • identifying how behavior should be managed by the teacher or referred to school leaders

Our LeinSTAR’s will be students who demonstrate the School’s values and each fortnight students will be celebrated by their achievement of one of the values. The celebration will include coming to the office for a certificate, a phone call or email home to parents, an announcement at our values assembly and a group photo on our Facebook page.

Values assemblies are held fortnightly on a Tuesday at 8:30am to announce students recognised for their values and to remind all students of expected behavior.

Emergency Contacts

It is important that parents keep their contact and emergency contact details (including email) current so that a designated point of contact is available to the school at any given time.
