Lunch at School
Lunch and Recess Arrangements
Kindergarten, Pre-primary and Year 1 students eat together in the lower block play area from 10.30am – 10.50am and are provided with engaging play opportunities at recess and lunchtime. Year 2 to Year 6 students eat first (12:40pm – 1:00pm) and eat second (1:00pm – 1:30pm) in the upper block play area and are provided with sports equipment to use. We have found this to work extremely well and students are ready to learn and settled when they return to class.
High School students eat recess from 10.50am to 11.10am due to in-class and SIDE timetabling, joining the rest of the school cohort for lunch at 12.50pm – 1.30pm.
Please provide your child with a healthy lunch, which is essential for growing bodies and giving your child enough energy for the day. We are an allergy-aware school so please refrain from sending any nut products to school in your child’s lunchbox. Refrigeration is available in every classroom for lunches to be stored throughout the day.
Crunch and Sip
Leinster Community School participates in a daily in-class Crunch&Sip break, providing an opportunity for all students to drink water and eat an extra serving of vegetables or fruit to support good health and to help with learning and concentration in the classroom. Please send your child to school with a water bottle and some fruit or vegetables packed separately.
Lunch Orders
Lunch orders are available on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday and can now be placed through the MyPreOrder app on your smartphone device. Lunch orders need to be placed before 9:50am of the day they are required
The lunch order service is provided externally by the Gold n Nickel Tavern and we’re appreciative of being able to offer all families with a contactless way to order student lunches.
This app is free to download, there is no minimum spend amount and there are no credit card surcharge fees applied to your order when utilising this service.
Step one: Download the MyPreOrder app on your mobile device.
Step two: Search for Leinster Community School to commence the lunch order process through the app and follow the steps.
Step three: Finalise your order no later than 10am for same day orders, or place your order in advance.
