Dewey Dex, the lovable mascot for the Premier’s Reading Challenge, has re-entered Earth’s atmosphere determined for the 2024 edition to reach even greater heights than previous ones.
That will be no easy feat, as 23,204 students logged having read an amazing 363,290 books during last year’s challenge.
On an intergalactic quest to read all the books on Earth, Dewey arrived back in West Australia from planet GJ 504b for the challenge, which started on May 06th.
The challenge runs until Friday 6th September, and is open to students from Kindergarten to Year 10.
We encourage all students at Leinster Community School to sign-up for the challenge.
Participants need to log 12 readings to complete the challenge and receive a certificate from the Premier and the Minister of Education.
They also go into the draw to win some amazing prizes each week that they log having read something.
Registrations are now open through the Premier’s Reading Challenge website, https://www.premiersreadingchallenge.wa.edu.au.
